Quasi-periodic Phenomena and Phase-locked Orbits in Dc-dc Boost Switching Regulators

چکیده
Quasi-periodic route to chaos is a common feature in DC-DC switching converters like the Boost and the Buck-Boost. A periodic orbit bifurcates into a T torus through a Neimark-Sacker bifurcation, and then, quasi-periodic behavior is obtained. Further changes in the parameters may breakdown such torus resulting in chaotic behavior. Analytical expressions are deduced for the stability character of the orbits, although numerical simulations and experimental measurements are also provided to reinforce the theory. Bifurcations in current-programmed DC/DC buck switching regulators - conjecturing a universal bifurcation path
This paper studies the bifurcation paths exhibited by a DC=DC buck switching regulator under current-programmed control. Previous studies with the boost converter and the Cuk converter have shown that two distinct types of bifurcation paths, namely one that goes through a region of quasi-periodic orbits and via period-doubling, are possible. We conjecture that these two di erent types of bifurc...
متن کاملA Soft Switched DC-DC Boost Converter for Use in Grid Connected Inverters
This paper presents a soft-switching DC-DC boost converter, which can be utilized in renewable energy systems such as photovoltaic array, and wind turbine connections to infinite bus of a big power network, using grid connected inverters. In the proposed topology for the DC-DC boost converter, the main and the auxiliary power switches are turned on and turned off with zero voltage switching (ZV...
متن کاملSimulation and Experimental Verification of Closed Loop Operation of Buck / Boost DC-DC Converter with Soft Switching
A major problem in an isolated DC/DC converters operating at high switching frequencies is the attendant switching losses in the semiconductor devices. This can be reduced by introducing either zero-voltage switching (ZVS) or zero-current switching (ZCS) of the semiconductor switches. This paper deals with the simulation, design, fabrication and experimental evaluation of a novel soft-switching...
متن کاملMulti-Phase Synchronization and Parallel Power Converters
This review paper studies nonlinear dynamics of parallel dc–dc converters and its practical applications. First, we introduce a single dc–dc converter which is a building block of the parallel system. Using a simple model of piecewise constant vector field, we show that the converters exhibit rich bifurcation phenomena including chaos and complicated superstable periodic orbits. We then introdu...
متن کاملStudy of Bifurcations in Current-Programmed Dc/dc Boost Converters: From Quasi-Periodicity to Period - Circuits and Systems I: Fundamental Theory and Applications, IEEE Transactions on
This paper studies the bifurcation paths exhibited by a simple second-order dc/dc boost converter under currentprogrammed control with and without voltage feedback. Previous work in this area has reported two distinct types of bifurcation paths, namely via regions of quasi-periodic orbits and perioddoubling. This paper demonstrates that the two different types of bifurcation paths can, in fact,...
